Overview

This feature runs a security scan on your cPanel & WHM server, and advises you about how to resolve any security issues that it finds.

Important:

If your system runs within a VPS environment, such as QEMU/KVM or Virtuozzo, options that affect the operating system may be unavailable. Contact your VPS hosting provider for assistance.

Scan your server

The scan will automatically begin when you open the interface. A list of issues will appear in the following colors:

ColorType of alertDescription
RedWarningThis indicates a severe security issue. We strongly suggest that you address this issue immediately.
YellowPossible IssueThis indicates an issue are not critical, but we suggest that you investigate and resolve this issues as soon as possible.
GrayInformationThis indicates a permissions issue in which a user has an unusual level of access. We suggest that you investigate and resolve these permissions issues as soon as possible..
GreenResolvedThis indicates that an issue has been resolved.

Resolve the issues

Most of the alert boxes will contain links to the appropriate WHM interface that will allow you to resolve the issue.

For example, you may see the following warning:

To resolve this issue, click the link to navigate to the Update System Software interface. This allows you to update the sshd daemon to the latest version.

Scan your server again

After you resolve the issues, click Scan Again to confirm that you have resolved all of the issues.
